At All Saints, middle school begins in grade six and goes through eighth grade at our Saint John’s campus on State Street. During these three years, students prepare for high school by studying Math, Science, English Language Arts, Social Studies and Religion. Each day, students participate in at least one "specials class" including Physical Education, Computer Technology, Art, Music, Library, and Spanish.
Students attend Mass weekly on Wednesday mornings at St. John's Church and participate in a variety of ways including as readers, cantors, altar servers, and gift bearers.
Our classroom sizes for grades 6 to 8 currently range from 12 to 23. Teachers are able to meet the needs of individual students by helping them reach benchmarks of success through leveled group work, for example in math and reading. Their dedication to fostering a familial, nurturing environment with and between the students, helps to shape our school community.
We begin each day with the entire campus coming together for morning prayer, songs, and announcements. Students are selected to practice and give the readings for the day on a rotating basis thus increasing their confidence and abilities as public speakers.
Students participate in school events and community service projects. Our 8th graders organize a variety of fundraisers throughout the year including Friday pizza sales, middle school dances, and a Father/Daughter dance to support their 8th grade end-of-year trip and a special class service project identified by the class. .
